Prior to the pandemic, around 100 million Americans went on vacation every year. After the pandemic hit in 2020, it threw a huge wrench in a lot of people’s travel plans, which meant many weren’t going on fun trips anymore.
But as we return to a little bit of normalcy, maybe it’s time that you book the best family vacation possible, seeing as your loved ones deserve it.
To ensure you have a good time, you don’t want to forget anything. Here’s a quick checklist for vacation essentials!
Appropriate Clothes
After you’ve read up on the trip you’re booking (such as by checking Apple vacations reviews) and have confirmed the dates, you’ll want to make note of when you’re visiting. The clothes you’ll pack will depend on this!
For example, if you’re visiting Norway in the winter, then you’ll want to bring out your heavy-duty winter clothes. But if you’re going to Florida in the summer, you’ll want to pack shorts and tank tops instead!
No matter what, you’ll want to have the basics. These include:
- Underwear
- Shirts (both short and long-sleeved)
- Pants
- Socks
- Dressy outfit
- Comfortable shoes
Toiletry Bag
What you’re bringing here will depend on if you’re checking your toiletry bag or bringing it as carry-on luggage. If it’s the latter, then remember your liquids must be 100ml or less per container.
You should bring:
- Tooth brush
- Toothpaste
- Floss
- Mouthwash
- Hand sanitizer
- Tissues
- Hairbrush/comb
- Deodorant
- Sunscreen
- Makeup
- Makeup remover and/or face wash
- Personal mirror
- Lotion
- Lip balm
- Perfume/cologne
- Feminine hygiene products
If you don’t like the toiletries provided by hotels, you should also pack your own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. And if you wear glasses, be sure to bring your glasses case, contacts (and extras), contact solution, and a case.
Electronics and Their Accessories
We all can’t live without our electronics; just an hour without them can feel like torture. Make sure you don’t ruin your own trip by packing these essentials:
- Smartphone
- Tablet
- Charger
- Electric converters and adapters
- Earbuds/headphones
It can be helpful to bundle all these things in a bag like a toiletry bag so they’re easily found.
Small First Aid Kit
Wherever you’re going, you’re sure to be close to a first aid kit. However, it’s still good to have your personal kit to take care of things in an instant.
Fill your kit with:
- Bandaids
- Prescriptions
- Allergy medications
- Aspirin
- Multivitamins
- Insect repellent
- Eye drops
If you put these things in a small bag, you can easily put it in your backpack as you tour the area. That way, if anything happens, you’ll have instant relief.
Don’t Forget These Vacation Essentials
Without these vacation essentials, you might have a harder time. Not to mention, you’ll waste precious time searching for replacements.
By getting and packing everything you need before your trip, you’ll be able to fully enjoy yourself while on vacation!
