The road to self-improvement can be long and arduous, especially if you’re a simple man trying to improve his health.
There are a thousand articles online with health tips for men and they all have conflicting information and differing opinions.
It’s hard to know where to start.
The 5 Best Health Tips For Men
Come along with me, kid. Let me help you out. Here are the best 5 places to start when it comes to improving your health.
5. Sleep More!
I’m starting you off easy here.
The rest of the tips on here will take work, but with this one, I’m begging you to actually just do less with your life.
The Sleep Foundation suggests that the average adult male needs somewhere between 7-9 hours of sleep a night, so you really have no time to waste.
When bedtime rolls around, don’t check your email or scroll through Twitter, it’ll only keep you more awake and less primed for sleep.
The benefits of sleep are varied and enormous: it keeps your mind sharp, it keeps you happy and well-adjusted, and if you’re on a diet, it even helps you regulate weight loss!
Alright now buckle in, because we’ve just begun and like a bourgeois london circumcision clinic, we’ve got the best tips in the game.
4. Count Your Calories
Or at the very least, stay away from fast food.
Our modern food environment is disastrous for our health. So much of the food available to us is so dense in sugar and calories that it’s no wonder 30% of the world is overweight or obese today.
Even if you don’t need to lose weight, it’s helpful to count calories just for a little while, so that you have a better general sense of how many calories are in different kinds of foods.
There are plenty of apps to help you with this, but I recommend MyFitnessPal for its ease of use.
3. See a Therapist
Now, I understand you may not be in the best financial position for this. Therapy can be expensive.
But even if you don’t think you need to see a therapist it can be enormously beneficial.
And as of 2009, 45.1 million adults were suffering from some sort of mental illness in the United States alone.
So just get checked out, for your own peace of mind.
2. Have More Sex
But be polite about it, please!
In all seriousness, if you and your partner aren’t having as much sex as you once were, consider taking corrective action.
Sex is a fantastic stress reliever, it helps lower your blood pressure, and for women, it’s a great promoter of cardiovascular health.
So keep you and the woman in your life happy and healthy.
1. Exercise, You Dummy!
This one is truly the most important, and is probably the best overall indicator of your general health.
Simply lifting weights or going for a run has enormous benefits for your health in just about every single way.
Exercise keeps your weight in check, reduces your blood pressure and risk of heart disease and so much more.
This one is non-negotiable. Just do it.
Parting Words
